HOPEFULLY WE DON"T RUSH HIM IN TO THE LEAGUE AND RUIN HIM.

Take time and let the kid develop outside the media circus.

Good. Getting some decent AHL games will go a long way to giving him a taste of how much tougher professional hockey is from the CHL, and he's got a great coach to help him along on the Marlies.

In Dallas Eakins I Trust.

Now let's get Gardiner back on the leafs.

First off, I'm Surprised Moose Jaw didn't trade him at the WHL trade deadline, I mean he can return, but the Leafs seem very high on him.

I like the fact he's headed to the Marlies, I've been to quite a few games recently (prior to the trade for Kevin Marshall & return of Paul Ranger), and the Marlies D looked pretty shaky. He should get a fair amount of ice time and with just over 15 AHL regular season games plus playoffs he should get some quality development under his belt. I hope the Leafs dont call him up, if they want an offensive minded defensemen call up Gardiner, Reilly is to young and needs to develop. I'd like to see Reilly paired up with Ranger, I think its most Benifical to his success. Then throw Marshall and Gardiner together and have Blacker play with Mottau. With Gysbers, Yeo, Grimshaw and Syvret as the healthy's.

As for Gardiner, If the Leafs are planning on trading him, I think its best to keep him in the AHL where he is ripping it up. With all the hype surronding him its only boosting his trade value in my mind. If he comes up an is a let down, his trade value only goes down. Granted if he preforms well it does go up. Either way I think its a safer bet to keep him in the AHL if they plan is to trade him away.

Another thing to keep an eye on is other prospects that may be coming up in the near future. Former 1st round pick Stuart Percy's Mississauga Steelheads will likely be outsted on 4 straight in the 1st round of the OHL playoffs. It would be interesting to see what he can do with the Marlies. He preformed really well last year when given the oppurtunity. Connor Brown but up 69 points in 63 games with the Erie Otters. 2012 2nd round pick Matt Finn's Guelp Storm are facing the Kitchener Rangers in the 1st round of the OHL playoffs, they may likely see a quick exit in the playoffs. With that said the Leafs also have goaltending prospect Garret Sparks playing with the Storm, he has had a really good OHL season an could see a couple games in the AHL. (Remember Carey Price joined the Hamilton Bulldogs after his WHL season and led them to a Calder cup). Thats very unlikely to happen here.. obviously but one can dream right. David Broll saw some time with the Marlies last season and will likely again this year. He is also coming off his best season in Jr with 54 points in 67 games. Players like Tyler Biggs, Josh Levio & Ryan Rupert all play for extremely good OHL teams so its likely they will be part of lengthy playoff runs, but expect to see them get a shot as well if their respective teams get knocked out early enough in the OHL playoffs. Also keep an eye on Nonis signing College Free Agents as they may also be added to to fold late in the season.

Why are the Leafs letting this kid stagnate on the Marlies?

They need to call him up to the big club before they kill his spirit.

He could easily play on the Leafs' top pairing right now.

Thanks for taking my call. I'm going to hang up and listen.

Fair enough.. although I was just trying to get my opinion out there. I'm not trying to be a journalist over here, simply posting on a fourm. Now if you can get over my grammar or spelling mistakes.. what is everyone else's opinons ?
